My Table of Wares...

...at a church charity coffee morning last week.
Try to ignore the bright blue in the background and all the rows of chairs (I miss pews in churches) and see the mass of goodies on offer, all handmade with love ♥

This is more what I had in mind...

...when I was making bottle bags previously, so they look more like rustic burlap sacks with pretty but simple little fabric and button detail decorations.

oh, and some 'Merry Christmas' gift tags in the same rustic fabric.

This is what I've been working on recently...

...for the daughter of a lovely friend for her birthday...

...and this picture shows the colours a little better (I've been having problems with cameras of late) and a lot of the mess I made on the worktop while finishing off and framing!

...apologies for the poor picture quality, I need some serious photography lessons!

Bottle Bags

I was asked a while back to make some fabric bottle bags as an alternative to the shop-bought paper ones.

I have a big piece of this gold organza-style material so made a couple of these.  I sewed a crimson organza tie to the back of the bag, which can be tied around the neck of the bottle in a big bow.

For the cupcake fabric I sewed a pink spotty ribbon and button on the back of the bag, again to be tied in a bow around the neck of the bottle.

And the strawberries printed fabric I made into a bag with two handles with a button and loop fastening.
They're all sewn with French seams so are nice and neat on the inside too!

Dream a little dream...

There's been a lot of bunting building going on lately.  I made this lovely 'DREAM' bunting using floral papers in pinks and blues, ink-smudged the edges and added lettering in pink glittery card with gold edging.

The end flags are a textured distressed paper in washed-out salmon with yellow spots, embellished with a  tiny yellow-pearl heart.
Once again, finished with hanging loops, beads and a couple of gold organza ribbon knots.

Vintage Bunting

Following on from the 'Welcome' bunting I blogged about before I went off on my jollydays, I did get to make the 'Vintage' bunting that had been my initial plan.

I've used the same papers and patterns, ink-smudged the edges and 'aged' the lettering with dark gold.

I've finished off with a couple of minky-purple buttons and knots of dusky lavender organza ribbon.

Wednesday 7 September 2011

I've been on my jollydays!

I've just got back from a fantastic two week holiday in St Ives, Cornwall.  I love waking up to the sound of the sea, and being able to watch the waves as I lie in bed is bliss!
I did get a bit of crafty shopping done on a little trip out to Penzance.
Some lovely fabrics in spots...
...florals...
...and stripes...

...and some ribbons...
...just a few ribbons...
...in lovely colours...
...honestly, just a few ribbons...
...now all I have to do is create something wonderful with them all! (or I could just keep getting them out to look at and play with!)
