Textile Art Postcards

There's a pattern I keep trying to create for a book cover but every time I try my head refuses to make it work.  I'm convinced it will just fall into place perfectly one day, until then I'll just keep getting distracted by lovely little textile art pieces like these...

How hard can it be...?

...to make a card a week for a year?  I should be organised enough to get this done, I mean, it's not like people change the day they have their birthday, is it?  I'm going to try to do this, and I'll even attempt to back-track over the weeks I've missed so far this year, too.

So here goes...

First up, a 15th birthday card for Jamie

followed by a 50th card for my sister-in-law from the beginning of February

Ah Pinterest, how I love thee...

I do enjoy a gentle stroll through Pinterest.  Unfortunately, a gentle stroll soon becomes a marathon trek and I'm lost in all things yummy, shabby, crafty etc.

I have a board called 'One Day I Will Make' so I thought I'd maybe share a couple of my versions of items on this board.
My first altered bottle, an old sauce bottle transformed into a button storage jar...

 and a port decanter gussied up into a pretty bottle.

Crochet Hook Case

I finally got round to making myself a little crochet hook case.  It is crocheted in stripes with a scalloped edge and a pink felt lining.

My sister liked it so much she asked me to make her one, too!
